Q&A With Wednesday Holmes

Hey! Let’s get to know you a little better. Introduce yourself and tell us more about you as an artist.

Hi, I'm Wednesday. I'm an artist and author. I live in a little house by the sea with my golden retriever, Olive. I love making art that uplifts and entertains people. Especially queer and disabled people. I make fun rainbow illustrations, I write poetry, little essays and I take photos all about the world around me and how I experience it. My identity and life journey informs my work a lot, I think. I have audhd, I'm non binary, a lesbian. There are lots of aspects of myself that I use art to explore. And I share it all online so that someone else might see themselves in it too.

What was the inspiration behind your collection?

The collection is a selection signature  artworks that I've made over the years. I feel like it describes me as a person. I loved revisiting these works to create something special and new. It feels full circle.

Tell us a bit about how the design process worked?

I went through years of my work. It was certainly a journey. I looked through my portfolio, and thought about the times and situations that caused me to make each piece. It was really special.

If you could describe your collection in 3 words what would they be?

Joyful, magical and hopeful.

What's been your favourite part of working with us?

I liked that I was given free reign to design what I wanted. As an artist it's really nice sometimes to be given such an opportunity to express myself.

Where do you go when you're looking for inspiration?

I often flick through my old work, my old drawings, and figure out how to use the past to create a future.

What's on your bucket list?

Buy a little flat right on the seafront for me and olive. I'll paint flowers on the walls.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

Get out of your own way!

Where can people find you on socials?
