Class of 2018!

With Pride around the corner, and our mega Prom themed Pride float on the glitter paved horizon, we thought it was about time our yearbook committee pulled their fingers out and finished printing the latest edition of the Class of 2018 Skinnydip Yearbook! We spoke to a couple of our fave babes around HQ to find out a little more about what Pride means to them, and how important it is to work for a company like us who support Pride loud and proud! Drum roll please…

Have you got a look for pride this year?
I’m going for a multi-coloured disco ball look! All the sequins and all the glitter. I’ll also be attempting Instagram worthy, pride flag inspired makeup- emphasis on attempting.
What’s your fave Skinnydip accessory you’ll be taking to pride this year?
My fave Skinnydip accessory I’ll be taking is the holo cat bum bag. It’s the perfect combination of practical and cute.
What does it mean to you to work for a company that supports pride?
It’s important to me to work for a company that supports pride because I think everyone should be confident to be themselves and love who they want. Fashion companies have so much influence on their consumers so to use that for good is something I love about Skinnydip.
If you could visit pride celebrations anywhere in the world where would it be?
I would love to go to pride in Amsterdam, I love the city anyway and it would be great to see the celebrations on the canals.

Probably something glittery and colourful of course, with a statement pair of sunnies!
What does being part of the LGBT community mean to you?
I think it’s important to be a part of something that evolves so much more every year. It’s definitely a subject to be a part of for a young adult in the 21st century. Out with the old, in with the new!

Come be a part of something amazing, supporting fellow adults.
What does it mean to you to work for a company that supports pride?
I think it’s important, it creates another community, it feels great to help be part of something that’s a lot bigger than myself.
If you could visit pride celebrations anywhere in the world where would it be?
Either London or Brighton

Lots of glitter, lots of colour and feeling like you blend into the rainbow!
What does being part of the LGBT community mean to you?
To me, the LGBT community is an open family that is always willing to educate others, help expand people’s minds and perspectives and accepting people whoever they are. I’ve always found the community to be so welcoming, positive, and just an absolute force to be reckoned with. Oh, and they’re the most beautiful people I’ve ever seen!
What’s your fave Skinnydip accessory you’ll be taking to pride this year?
I LOVE the range of bumbags, leaving you free to dance freely ☺
What would you say to anyone who is yet to join the LGBT community?
Have courage and confidence, there’s a whole family waiting to embrace you.
What does it mean to you to work for a company that supports pride?
It’s such a privilege to work for a company so welcoming and open to Pride, and willing to lend their name to a cause that is so important. It’s been so exciting working on all of the products, events, and the big Pride float, I just can’t wait for it all to start!
If you could visit pride celebrations anywhere in the world where would it be?
I think New York or San Francisco would be absolutely amazing, but you can’t beat a London vibe.

BRIGHT COLOURED GLITTER, ALWAYS GLITTER – the more Glitter the better
What does being part of the LGBT community mean to you?
My Best friend is Gay and watching him come out, struggle to find a stable relationship, be judged and punished (even by myself due to the pressures of social conventions) to FINALLY BEING A STRONG BEAUTIFUL IN LOVE MALE
What’s your fave Skinnydip accessory you’ll be taking to pride this year?
Anything from the Hate Sucks range!!!!! The Phone case is so cute!
What would you say to anyone who is yet to join the LGBT community?
Take your time in making your own decisions, don’t force yourself to do OR not do anything based on the pressures of society – you are your own person and are entitled to feel and act within your own comfort. One example, and probably the most relevant is whether that means coming out early or not, and how you do it. Most importantly knowing you are never alone, there is so much strength within and more recently from outside the community to support you.
What does it mean to you to work for a company that supports pride?
A company that supports Feminism, LGBT, Mental Awareness, Racial barriers – it is refreshing to work in a company that feels and recognises diversity, where you can openly talk about it!
If you could visit pride celebrations anywhere in the world where would it be?
I am literally going to Edinburgh tonight for Pride this weekend! (none will be as good as London though)

Say what?!
