The 8th of March marks this year’s International Women’s Day so we’re ready to feel the girl power! Unsure of what International Women’s Day is? We’ve put together some info so you can get on board and help to #BreakTheBias this month!
What is International Women's Day?
International Women’s Day is held once a year on the 8th of March to celebrate the achievements of women everywhere. It’s an opportunity to focus our energy on all things female, including donating to female-focused charities and campaigning for women’s rights!
What is this year's theme?
The 2022 theme of International Women’s Day is #BreakTheBias which is focused on the idea of a gender-equal world free from bias and prejudice! Unfortunately, many of us may be unaware of the bias against women or may contribute to gender inequality unknowingly, therefore it’s important that we are all collectively aware that gender bias exists - this way, we can work towards breaking the bias once and for all! To show your support and solidarity, perform this year’s IWD 2022 pose and cross your forearms to form an ‘X’ - snap a picture of yourself doing the post to upload to the official International Women’s Day website!
How can you make a difference?
There are many ways you can contribute to this year’s International Women’s Day. Firstly, consider donating to one of the many female-focused charities out there in the world to show your support - check out the International Women’s Day charities of choice for a range of great charities that could really use your help! Another way to join the fun is by attending an IWD event - or better yet why not start your own? The official International Women’s Day website is full of resources to make sure you have the most impactful and enjoyable IWD yet!
We’d also recommend supporting female-led brands to show your support for women in the business world! We’ve put together a list of a few of our favourites here, so be sure to take a look and feel proud of what us females can accomplish!
